Micci & Ben’s Buxton Wedding
“I was looking through your page and think it’s ace. Please could you tell me if you are available on the 21st of July next year“
I was contacted by Micci asking if I was available for their Buxton wedding. Her original photographer had, unfortunately, had to cancel. Luckily I had their date available and we arranged a meeting to chat through the plans for their big day in Buxton.
When we met up, it was then that I realised her husband to be was Ben, who I went to school with! I hadn’t seen him since we left school. After Ben not remembering who I was (I’ll let him off, it’s been a while) we caught up with what we’d been up to since leaving school.
Buxton Engagement Shoot At Solomon’s Temple
We headed to the woods just below Solomon’s Temple for their engagement shoot. This brought back conversations about how we used to do cross country in PE through these woods, we agreed that neither of us enjoyed it!
Anyway, it was a lovely evening for their shoot but the midges were next level! Massive thanks to them both for putting up with the biting blighter’s!
BUXTON ENGAGEMENT SHOOT WOODLANDS
Buxton Wedding – Just Divine Hair & Beauty
Micci was lucky enough to have her mother-in-law own a beauty salon. Naturally that was the place for all the girls to get ready. The atmosphere was completely alive and it was so nice hanging out with them all whist they got pampered!
They then headed back to Micci & Ben’s house to put their dresses on and do the finishing touches.
Following on from the bridal prep, it was time to head to Ben’s to capture the guys getting ready. Even the pooch decided he wanted to say hello to everyone 😀
Buxton Wedding at St Mary’s Church – The Service
Micci & Ben had chosen St Mary’s Church in Buxton for their ceremony. The church is ideally situated in the centre of Buxton. As the guests started to arrive, it was apparent just how many people had turned out to see this lovely couple get married. Micci and her bridesmaids turned up at the church and all looked amazing as you can see from the photographs.
It was a lovely service and the atmosphere was full of joy and happiness. This quickly changed to a room full of giggling guests as Ben knelt down at the altar to reveal a hilarious prank that had been played on him… I’ll let you guess who culprit was and it’s not who you’d think 😉
After the giggling had died down and the service came to an end, we quickly jumped outside to take some group shots. I particularly love this one of the bridesmaids and groomsmen.
Goyt Valley Couple Shots
Micci had asked me during our consultation meeting if there was enough time to do their couple photos in the Goyt Valley. After going through their timeline, I concluded that there definitely was enough time to head over after their service. The weather was really on our side, it was warm, dry but with some awesome moody skies.
I was so excited to capture these awesome adventurous images of them both. I think these images really sum up what it’s like to have a gorgeous Peak District wedding.
Micci and Ben had speeches with a twist, by that I mean Micci’s maid of honour and her mum both gave utterly hilarious speeches! It’s so nice to see couples choosing people who mean absolutely everything to them to give a speech, even when it doesn’t conform to norm. These are the types of weddings I love, non-traditional and 100% what you want!
I am literally the biggest cheese and cake fan on the planet! So you can imagine how excited I was when I saw Micci has chosen a gorgeous wedding cake AND an awesome cheese wedding cake! How beautiful are both of these?
First Dance & Cake Cutting
After an amazing meal and people enjoying socialising outside, it was time for the first dance. Everyone quickly joined them on the dance floor for a good old boogie. The only thing left to do was cut the cake and party on for the rest of the evening!
