Last week I was lucky enough to be able to photograph the lovely Connor. I had just ordered some new backdrops and when Cat came to me asking if I’d do some photographers of her little man, I was excited not only to be able to photograph Connor, but to test out my new backdrops too!

So I loaded the baby blue and cream backdrops into my car, along with various other props and headed off to Cat’s. Once I arrived Connor was fast asleep so it was ideal to get set up without disturbing him. I decided to use my speedlite and a reflector for the shoot rather than my studio lights as with newborn babies, sometimes studio flash can be quite harsh.  Once set up we placed Connor in the wicker basket and he was more than happy to pull us a few cheeky smiles. He was pretty strong for a little guy, which made propping him up perfect.

After the basket shots, we decided to let him rest his head a little and to lie him down on the fluffy blanket (which he loved to grab between his little fingers) again after some amazing smiles we opted to swap the backdrop for the cream one for some more natural images. We placed a cream/brown cushion down on the floor and allowed Connor to sit on his belly as we knew he’s be able to hold his litle head up for a few shots.  By this point he was getting pretty hungry and we only managed a few images before he let us know he’d had enough! Over all we had such great fun and Cat loved all of her images.
