Back in June, Heather approached me asking to do a second cake smash for little Max’s birthday. Without hesitation I immediate replied with ‘of course!!’ Shoots for Heather and Matthew are always great fun, they put every bit of effort in to make them creative and unique. My next question was ‘so what’s the theme this year?’ Heather replied with Cowboys! I was so excited! After a few email exchanges we’d gone from a simple shoot with a cowboy themed cake and hat, right through to eventually deciding on wooden crates and lots of hay scattered everywhere! These two are certainly not afraid to get their house dirty for some wonderful shots, that’s for sure! I couldn’t wait to shoot this cake smash!

On the day we quickly got set up and I’ve got to admit it looked pretty amazing and so did Max in his dungarees and cowboy hat! Now this is where you can tell Max had been brought up to not play with his food, because as soon as we plunged his hands into the cake, all was not quite so peaceful any more! We did manage to get some lovely shots of Max before he’d decided enough was enough, which was great!

Luckily his big sister Keevey-Leigh was in the mood for a spot of modelling herself so we quickly cleared away the cake/hay and took a few shots of her on her own and a few with Heather. Overall an extremely fun shoot and I was glad to be able to test out my new backdrops! Hope you enjoy the images!
